解释：古代按时节进献的雄兽。《诗·秦风·驷驖》"奉时辰牡，辰牡孔硕。"毛传"辰，时也。牡，兽之牡者也。辰牡者，冬献狼，夏献麋，春秋献鹿豕群兽。"一说，"辰"当读为"慎";辰牡，即慎牡，五岁兽，兽之最大者。见清王引之《经义述闻·毛诗上》。又一说，辰，通"麎"，大鹿。麎牡，大公鹿。参阅高亨《诗经今注》。
